(2km120m)+(3km5m)-(1km525m) .Giving your answer in km

Open in App
Solution

Step 1- Conversion of kmintom

We know,

1km=1000m

2km=2×1000=2000m3km=3×1000=3000m1km=1×1000=1000m

Now given expression becomes

(2km120m)+(3km5m)-(1km525m)=2000+120m+3000+5m-1000+525m=2120m+3005m-1525m

Step 2- Simplify :

We have, 2120m+3005m-1525m

Adding the numbers with same sign we get,

2120m+3005m5125m

Now,

5125m-1525m3600m

Therefore, (2km120m)+(3km5m)-(1km525m)=3600m

Step 3- Conversion of mintokm

We know that, 1m=11000km

3600m=11000×3600=3.6km

Therefore, the value of (2km120m)+(3km5m)-(1km525m) is 3.600km.
