Solution
Glycolysis
The pathway of the breakdown of glucose into pyruvic acid is termed as glycolysis. This pathway is a step-wise process in which several molecules are released like 4 ATPs, 2 ADPs, water and 2 (NADH + H+ ) when one glucose molecule undergoes glycolysis.
ATP used
Number of ATP used per glucose molecule = 2
Number of ATP used for 2 glucose molecule =2×2=4
ATP produced
Number of ATP produced per glucose molecule = 4
Number of ATP produced for 2 glucose molecule =4×2=8
