Cephalochordate:

  1. Cephalochordata is a small subphylum consisting of around 28 marine species and occurs all around the world in temperate as well as tropical waters.
  2. Their dorsal nerve cord is supported by a notochord, and they have gill slits that are used to strain food particles out of the water.
  3. The body is like a fish which is useful for borrowing and swimming, and it has a head and a tail, but appendages are absent.
  4. Enterocoelomic coelom is present, but it exhibits a closed circulatory system.
