  • By early November, the low-pressure conditions get transferred to the Bay of Bengal from Northwestern India.
  • Over the Andaman Sea, the existence of cyclonic depressions is associated with the above mentioned shift in the low pressure conditions.
  • Rains are very heavy and widespread when these cyclones touch India at the Eastern coast.
  • Massive destruction is caused by these cyclones.
  • Heavy damage to life and property can be seen as the eastern coast has thickly populated deltas of Kaveri, Krishna and Godavari.
  • Majority of the rainfall received in the Coromandel Coast is due to cyclones and depressions.
  • These cyclones could arrive at the coasts of West Bengal, Odisha.
