Acidic Buffer:

  • Buffer is a solution that retains the change in its pH to any great extent, upon the addition of a small amount of acid, base, or water to the solution.
  • Acidic Buffer is one type of buffer solution which is acidic in nature.
  • An acidic buffer solution is prepared by mixing any weak acid along with its corresponding salt with a strong base.
  • Examples of acidic buffer:

Acetic acid + Sodium acetate (CH3COOH+CH3COONa,) Benzoic acid + Sodium benzoate(C6H5COOH+C6H5COONa) etc.

Hence, two examples for acidic buffer are : acetic acid + sodium acetate (CH3COOH+CH3COONa,) benzoic acid + sodium benzoate(C6H5COOH+C6H5COONa).
