The correct option is D cell type
Growth is often referred to as an irreversible increase in size or weight (fresh or dry) of a cell, organ or organism. However, a flaccid cell absorbing water and a wilted leaf gaining turgidity are also considered to be examples of increase in size. But these are not considered as growth as these processes are reversible.
Similarly, during seed germination, the actual dry weight falls though there is an increase in size and fresh weight. Therefore, growth can be defined as a permanent or irreversible increase in dry weight, size, mass or volume of a cell, organ or organism.
The increases in the surface area of a leaf too is growth. But cell type does not indicate growth.
