Question

How do you find the probability of Aand B ?

Open in App
Solution

Finding the probability of A and B:

If two events A and B are independent, then the probability of occurrence of events A and B can be calculated by the formula:

P(AB)=P(A)P(B)

Where P(A) and P(B) are the probabilities of event Aand Brespectively.

For eg: If A is the event of getting 2 and Bis the event of getting 6 on a dice.

Then A andB are independent events.

P(A)=16 and P(B)=16

P(AB)=P(A)P(B)

P(AB)=136

Hence, in this way we can find the probability of A and B.
