Open in App
Solution

To multiply real and imaginary number:

We know that a complex number is a combination of real numbers and imaginary numbers. The complex number may be either real or imaginary if one of its parts is zero.

For example, 3+4iis a complex number.

If a complex number(a+bi) is multiplied by a real number ''x'', we get the result as:

(a+bi)x=ax+bxi

For example,a=3,b=4andx=2

(3+4i)2=3×2+(2×4)i=6+8i

Hence, real number and imaginary number can be multiplied by above stated way.
