How do you write 1139100 as a decimal?

Open in App
Solution

Keeping the whole integer 11 aside for now, we consider the fraction 39100. This canbe written also as:
39.00100
since the addition of two zeroes after the decimal does not change the value.
Now, when dividing any number by a multiple of ten (10), the method is simply to shift the decimal point to the left for every zero in the denominator.
Hence:
39.00100 ecomes 39100 which is the same as 0.39
Adding this to the whole integer 11 we get:
11.39
