Deforestation is the large scaling cutting of trees leading to complete loss of forest areas.
Part 2: Reasons for deforestation
The reasons for deforestation is the following:-
Firewood collection: Especially in villages, the main source of fuel is firewood. Unfortunately, due to the overpopulation the amount of trees cut for firewood is not sustainable.
Overgrazing: It can also lead to destruction of the greenery on Earth.
Timber extraction: Trees have been cut for construction of houses.
Jhum cultivation: Farmers use the slash and burn method to clear forest land for their farming purposes. Repeated cultivation leads to deforestation.
Population growth: The human population is increasing, as a result, population density is high requiring over cultivation to meet food requirements.
Governance failure: The reluctance of governing bodies as well as corruption persist, these lead to insufficient actions leading to reckless deforestation.
