How is a leap year formed?

Open in App
Solution

- A year actually consists of 365 days and 6 hours.
- Six hours saved every year in 4 years become 24 hours or one additional day.
- The day is added to the month of February every fourth year.
- So, every fourth year, February has one more day i.e. 29 days instead of 28 days.
- Such a year of 366 days is called a leap year.
