Solution
Primary oocytes present when a female infant is born
Primary oocyte is a diploid cell, which is formed from the oogonia or gamete mother cell.
During the embryonic stage, oogenesis takes place.
At the moment of birth, females have approximately two million primary oocytes in their ovaries.
Between birth and puberty, a considerable proportion of primordial follicles containing primary oocytes degenerate, leaving each ovary with only 60,000 to 80,000 primary follicles.
