Triplet code is a series of three nucleotides that determine a single amino acid.
There are 64 triplet codons present in mRNA, i.e. 4 possible nucleotides in groups of 3 (4³).
Out of the total 64 codons, 61 code for 20 amino acids in proteins.
UAA, UAG and UGA code for termination of translation are known as stop codons.
