Solve:

$\frac{2}{3} + \frac{3}{4} + \frac{1}{2}$

Solution

Fractions whose denominators are different are called unlike fractions.

$\frac{2}{3}$ , $\frac{3}{4}$ and $\frac{1}{2}$ are unlike fractions.

The LCM of the denominator of the given fractions i.e. L.C.M of 3, 4, 2 is 12.

$∴ \frac{2}{3} + \frac{3}{4} + \frac{1}{2} = \frac{2 \times 4 + 3 \times 3 + 1 \times 6}{12} = \frac{8 + 9 + 6}{12} = \frac{23}{12} = 1 \frac{11}{12}$
