Identify the following artificial vegetative propagation methods:
The second image indicates the grafting method of artificial vegetative propagation. Stem of one plant, with the desired characters (scion), is grafted onto the stem of another plant with a root system (stock). When tissues of both the parts are combined, they both grow together.
Stem cutting is different from layering as in this method, the stem is cut from the parent plant and then allowed to develop roots and grow elsewhere. In layering, the stem is still attached to the parent plant when it develops the roots.
