f(1)=02+a+b=6
a+b=41
and f(x) leaves remainder 2 on being divided by (x2)

2×23+a×22+b×26=2

4a+2b=210=8
2a+b=4
Solving 1 and 2
2a+b=4
a+b=4
a=8
a+b=4
