α is a root 4α2+2α1=0

Let the other root be β.

Then the sum of roots will be α+β=12

β=12α . . . (1)

Now, 4α2+2α1=0

4α2=12α

4α3=α(12α)

4α3=α2α2

4α3=2α12

Subtracting 3α from both sides.

4α33α=α12=β

Hence, 4α33α is other root.
