If the given rectangle is divided into two triangles, what will be the area of each triangle?

Given, the length of the rectangle$\left(l\right)$ is 8 cm and the breadth of the rectangle$\left(b\right)$ is 5 cm

If we cut the rectangle through its diagonal into two triangles then both the triangles will be equal in area.

So area of each triangle $=\frac{1}{2}\times$ (Area of the rectangle)
$=\frac{1}{2}\times (l\times b)$
$=\frac{1}{2}\times (8\text{cm}\times 5\text{cm})$
$=\frac{40{\text{cm}}^2}{2}$
$=20$ cm${}^2$
