(i) To pick the same day during the second trial as during the first, you have to pick one specific day out of 7 possibilities. Hence, the probability is 17.
(ii) To pick an adjacent day during the second trial, you have two adjacent days out of 7 possibilities. Hence, the required probability is 27.
