Plant cell under an electron microscope:

  1. Under the microscope, plant cells look like massive rectangular interlocking bricks.
  2. The cell wall of each cell is plainly seen surrounding it.
  3. The cell wall becomes rather thick and noticeable when colored.
  4. The cytoplasm is light in color, with a darkly pigmented nucleus at the cell's edge.
  5. The cell wall, nucleus, vacuoles, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, and ribosomes are all clearly visible in this transmission electron micrograph.

Difference between plant cell and animal cell:
