Solution
Galvanization:-
Galvanization is the process where Iron (Fe) and Steel are protected from rusting or corrosion with the help of Zinc (Zn).
In this process the iron or the steel is covered with a zinc coating.
This zinc-coated surface avoids the corrosion and weathering effects of the iron or steel by preventing the interaction of the surface with the atmosphere.
Since Zinc has a lower reduction potential due to its high reactivity than Iron, as a result, it will get oxidised first followed by Iron.
Therefore, In galvanization, iron is coated with a layer of zinc to prevent rusting.
