Question

In mutations, due to non-iodising radiations(UV Rays), thymine dimer is formed due to the formation of covalent bonds. Since there is a DNA bend formed in the strand of the thymine dimer, shouldn't there also be a similar DNA bend in the opposite strand (as adenine is also bound to thymine)?
