Taeniophyllum, an epiphyte, lacks stems and leaves. The epiphytic roots are green and contain chloroplast for photosynthesis.
Petiole modification for photosynthesis:
In some plants like Australian acacia, the petioles become green and expand to get modified to perform photosynthesis. Leaves in these plants are short-lived.
