Open in App
Solution

A square has four equal equal sides.
Thus, AB= BC=CD=DA
AB =(2x+3)cm and BC=(3x-5)cm
(2x+3)cm = (3x-5)cm
or, 2x cm +3cm = 3x cm -5cm
or, 2x cm -3x cm = -5cm +3 cm
or, -x cm = - 2cm
therefore, x = 2cm
therefore AB =7 cm and
BD2=AB2+AD2
BD2=7^2 + 7^2
BD2=49+49
BD2=98
BD= ROOT of 98=9.88 cm
