In the given figure AB=DC, ABC=DCB. Prove that

(i) ABCDCB

(ii) A=D

(iii) AC=DB

STEP 1 : Proving that ABCDCB

(i)

In ABC and DCB,

AB=DC [ Given ]

ABC=DCB [ Given ]

BC=CB [ Common side ]

Therefore, by SAS congruence condition ABCDCB

Hence proved.

STEP 2 : Proving that A=D

(ii)

Since, ABCDCB

As corresponding parts of congruence triangles are equal.

A=D [ By C.P.C.T.]

Hence proved.

STEP 3 : Proving that AC=DB

(iii)

Since, ABCDCB

As corresponding parts of congruence triangles are equal.

AC=DB [ By C.P.C.T.]

Hence proved..
