In viviparous germination, the seeds germinate while they are still attached to the parent plant. Embryo grows out of the seed and out of the fruit. The seed projects itself in the form of a green seedling and the root and the hypocotyl. Hypocotyl is the part of the stem of a germinating plant just above the root. All seeds require water, oxygen and right temperature for their germination and hence, can not germinate on their own.
