Question

Is toothpaste acidic or alkaline ?

Open in App
Solution

Regular toothpastes have an average pH scale of 8 ranging in slightly alkaline scale. The compnents present in tooth paste make it alkaline in nauture. This is because after having our food, the bacteria present in our mouth, breaks down the food and releases acids. In order to neutralise this acidic effect, we brush out teeth with toothpaste. For neutralising acids, a toothpaste is basic or alkaline in nature.
