. Malignant tumor

​Metastasis is the condition of spreading cancer cells throughout the body. This occurs only due to the development of malignant tumors where from a single tumor the cancer cells spread through the blood vessels to the different regions of the body forming multiple tumors.

The benign tumor remains confined to a single place and hence it does not metastasize. Ulcer also occurs in a specific place and does not spread throughout the body.
