Question

A transistor is connected in common emitter circuit configuration, the collector supply voltage is 10 V and the voltage drop across a resistor of 1000 Ω in the collector circuit is 0.6 V. If the current gain factor (β) is 24, then the base current is _____ μA.

Solution

Given:
R=1000 Ω ; β=24
VR=0.6 V ; VC=10 V

So, collector current,

IC=VRR=0.61000=6×104 A

And we know that,

Current gain factor, β=ICIB=24

IB=ICβ=6×10424=25 μA

Correct answer:25
