Question

The total charge enclosed in an incremental volume of 2×109 m3 located at the origin isnC, if electric flux density of its field is found as D=exsin^iexcosy^j+2z^k C/m2.

Solution

By Gauss's law, volume charge density is given by

ρ=Δ.E=(x^i+y^j+z^k).D

ρ=x(exsiny)+y(excosy)+z(2z)

ρ=exsiny+exsiny+2

At origin, ρ=e0sin0+e0sin0+2=2 C/m3

Charge =ρ× volume =2×2×109=4×109=4 nC

Correct answer: 4
