Acidic oxides are also known as acidic anhydride. When such acidic anhydride dissolves in water they produce acid. The acidic anhydride of nitric acid $HN{O}_3$ is dinitrogen pentoxide $N_2{O}_5$. It reacts with water to form nitric acid. That is,
