Flower:

  1. In the flowering plants, reproductive structures are present called flowers. Flower whorl consists of sepals, petals, stamen and carpels.

Pistils:

  1. Female reproductive organs are called pistils or carpels.
  2. These are the innermost parts where seed formation takes place. It consists of three parts- Stigma, style, and ovary.
    • Stigma- Swollen, receptive portion of the pistil.
    • Style- Long tube-like structure connecting the ovary and the stigma.
    • Ovary- Bottommost region where ovules are present and seed formation takes place.
