Given, 5(x-1)-2(x+8)=0
$\Rightarrow 5 (x - 1) - 2 ((x + 8) = 0 \Rightarrow 5 x - 5 - 2 x - 16 = 0 \Rightarrow 3 x - 21 = 0 \Rightarrow 3 x = 21 \Rightarrow \frac{3 x}{3} = \frac{21}{3} ∴ x = 7$
