$0.2 x + 0.3 y = 13$ equation 1
$0.4 x + 0.5 y = 2.3$ equation 2
From(1), $y = \frac{13 - 0.2 x}{0.3}$
Putting the value of y in (2), we have
$0.4 x + 0.5 (\frac{13 - 0.2 x}{0.3}) = 2.3$
$\Rightarrow 0.12 x + 6.5 - 0.1 x = 0.69$
$\Rightarrow 0.02 x = - 5.81$
$\Rightarrow x = - 290.5$
Now, $y = \frac{13 + 0.2 \times 290.5}{0.3}$
$\Rightarrow y = 237$
