Solution

The correct option is A (3,1)

Given equations:

4x – 2y = 10........(i)
x + y = 4.........(ii)

from (ii) y = 4 - x

Substituting y in (i)

4x – 2y = 10
4x - 2(4 - x) = 10
4x - 8 + 2x = 10
6x - 8 (+8) = 10 (+8)
6x = 18
x = 3

y = 1
