Step 1 : Make the denominators same by taking the LCM
$LCM of (21, 7) = 21 \Rightarrow \frac{- 2 \times 1}{21 \times 1} = \frac{- 2}{21} \Rightarrow \frac{5 \times 3}{7 \times 3} = \frac{15}{21}$
Step 2 : Subtract the rational numbers obtained in step 1 by keeping the denominator same .
$\frac{15}{21} - (\frac{- 2}{21}) = \frac{15}{21} + \frac{2}{21} [(-) \times (-) = (+)] = \frac{17}{21}$
Hence , $\frac{17}{21}$ is the difference.
