Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Find the sum of -9 and -32:

-9+-32=-41 ( When we add two negative integers, we add their absolute values and put -ve a sign to their sum)

Step 2: Find the sum of -13 and -48:

-13+-48=-61 ( When we add two negative integers, we add their absolute values and put -ve a sign to their sum)

Step 3: Subtract the result of step (1) from the result of step (2):

-61--41=(-61)+additiveinverseof-41 ( In subtraction, we add the additive inverse of the number to be subtracted)

=(-61)+41

=-20 (61>41, So we shall subtract 41 from 61 and will use the sign of 61)

Therefore, the required answer is -20.
