Electronic configuration of beryllium atom is 1s2 2s2. It has two electrons in the valence orbit(second orbit).

Fluorine has an electronic configuration of 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p5. It has seven electrons in it's valence orbit (third orbit).
