Two rectangles are joined together as shown. The perimeter of the new figure (in cm) is

The correct option is A 320
The length of one rectangle = 80 cm
The breadth of one rectangle = 40 cm
The perimeter of one rectangle = 2 x (80 + 40)
= 240 cm

Now after joining, the length of the new figure remains the same. Its 80 cm.
The breadth of the new figure = 40 + 40
= 80 cm

So the perimeter of the new figure = 80 + 80 + 80 + 80
= 320 cm
