Under what reaction conditions (acidic/basic), the coupling reaction of aryldiazonium chloride with aniline is carried out?
Coupling reaction of aryldiazonium chloride
Benzene diazonium chloride reacts with aniline in which the aniline molecule at its para position is coupled with the diazonium salt to form p−aminoazobenzene. This type of reaction is known as coupling reaction.
The reaction is carried out in mild basic conditions.
Because strong acidic conditions can protonate the aniline and deactivate it towards coupling reactions, the reaction is carried out in mild acidic conditions.
