Uses of protozoans:

1. Protozoan increase the soil fertility by feeding bacteria and regulating their population and it also helps with composting.
   
2. In the soil the bacteria remains in active growth phase, which results in faster decomposition of dead organic matter.
   
3. Protozoan feed upon the bacteria present in the water bodies, indirectly purifying water.
   
4. They are used as indicator of toxicity in the environment.
