Solution

Explanation about Quadrants:

A Quadrant is a region enclosed by the intersection of x-axisandy-axis. The two- dimensional cartesian plane is divided into four quadrants by x-axisandy-axis. And the point of intersection of these two axes is the origin.

The y-axis is called the Vertical axis and the x-axis is called the Horizontal axis.

Sign of the coordinates in each quadrant are:

Quadrantsx-coordinatey-coordinate
First (I)Positive (+)Positive(+)
Second (II)Negative(-)Positive(+)
Third (III)Negative(-)Negative(-)
Fourth (IV)Positive(+)Negative(-)

The sign of the coordinates in each quadrant are represented in the graph as:

On a graph what quadrants is (4,-3) in? | Socratic

Hence, a quadrant is region enclosed by the intersection of x-axis and y-axis.
