Five states of matter are as follows:-

Solid

• Solids are defined as matter with a definite volume and shape.
• Stone, wood, brick, and ice are examples of solids.

Liquid

• Liquids are defined as matter with a fixed volume but indefinite shape.
• Milk and water are examples of liquids. Because liquid can flow, it is also referred to as fluid.

Gas

• Matters which have indefinite volume and shape are called gases.
• Oxygen$\left({\mathrm{O}}_2\right)$, and hydrogen$\left({\mathrm{H}}_2\right)$ are examples of gases.

Plasma

• It is known as the fourth state of matter.
• Plasma particles are made up of free electrons and ions.
• Unless it is confined in a container, plasma has no particular shape or volume.
• Plasma atoms are incredibly hot and super excited.
• The neon sign bulbs consist of plasma.

Bose-Einstein condensate

• It is the fifth state of matter.
• Albert Einstein and Satyendra Nath Bose predicted this state of matter, that is why it is known as the Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC).
• Condensate atoms are super cool and super unexcited.
• Example: superfluids.
