Corrosion is one of the most common phenomena in our everyday life.
When some metals, such as iron, are exposed to moist air for a long period, their surfaces corrode. This is referred to as corrosion.
Advantages of corrosion
Galvanic corrosion:-This happens when two distinct metals come into electrical contact with an electrolyte and in this case, the more active metal may corrode.
Surface corrosion results in the formation of an oxide layer, which protects the inner metal from corrosion.
Some metals, such as zinc, are used as sacrificial anodes to protect other metals from corrosion.
