Question

What conditions must be present for a chemical reaction?

Open in App
Solution

Chemical Reaction:

  • A chemical reaction is a transformation of one or more chemicals (the reactants) into one or more distinct compounds (the products).
  • Chemical elements or chemical compounds make up substances. In a chemical reaction, the atoms that make up the reactants are rearranged to produce various products.

Condition For a Chemical reaction to occur:

  • A chemical reaction requires two reactants, which is a crucial prerequisite.
  • As opposed to a precipitate, which is an insoluble substance created when two aqueous solutions interact chemically.
  • Chemical bonds must be broken by sufficient energy collisions between molecules, often known as activation energy.
  • Molecules must collide in the proper direction.
  • These two criteria must be met for a collision to be considered favourable or efficient, which causes a chemical reaction.
  • All chemical reactions need electricity to start. Even reactions that release energy need an initial energy boost to get going.
  • The energy needed to start a chemical reaction is known as activation energy.
