Friction is a type of force that opposes the motion of a body.
Friction is called necessary evil for us. It is harmful as well as advantageous for us. Some disadvantages of the friction are -
- Moving parts of the machine suffer wear and tear due to friction.
- Due to the friction heat is produced in the moving parts and sometimes it becomes dangerous.
- Our doors and windows have moving or sliding parts so if the friction increases we can not open or closes the door or window.
- Tyres of the vehicles become useless over a period of time due to friction.
