Cis isomer:

  • Cis and trans geometrical isomers are which differ on the arrangement of groups around the double bond.
  • Cis isomer - If the same groups are present on the same side of the double bond, then the isomer is known as Cis-Isomer.
  • Trans isomer - If the same groups are present on the opposite side of the double bond, then the isomer is known as Trans-Isomer.
  • The examples of cis and trans form are shown below:
