Open in App
Solution

The tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle or Krebs or citric acid cycle:

  1. It is a chain of reactions occurring in the mitochondria, through which almost all living cells produce energy in aerobic respiration.
  2. It uses oxygen and gives out water and carbon dioxide as products.
  3. Here, ADP is converted into ATP
  4. The end product of each TCA cycle is 2 molecules of CO2, 3 NADH, 1 FADH2, and 1 GTP molecule.
