Question

What happens If we heat iron rod? Is it observable or not

Open in App
Solution

1.Heat Transfer

So, if you gonna heat an iron bar from one side, it will start conducting the heat to the othe end.

2. Thermal expansion

On heating the iron to a high temperature, thermal expansion will take place.

Thermal expansion occurs because heat increases the vibrations of the atoms in the metal.

3. Electric resistance

Electric resistance increase as heating increase the randomness of electrons thus more scattering and less electric conduction.

It is observable ,when we are heating it to a higher temperature it's colour will change to red .
