What happens to equilibrium when inert gas is added?

Solution
Effect of inert gas on equilibrium: There are basically two conditions which are described below:
Constant volume:
The inert gas is added in this condition then the total pressure increases but there is no change in the concentration of reactants and products.
The addition of inert gas at equilibrium condition at constant volume then there is no effect on the equilibrium constant.
Constant pressure:
The inert gas is added to this parameter then there is an increase in volume so that the number of moles per unit volume of reactants and products decreases.
At this condition, the equilibrium shifts toward the direction in which there is an increase in the number of moles of gases.
